So for one of my classes (contemporary art history: outside of the museum) we were asked to make a project that poses questions to society and make an art piece or performance or political action about it. I decided to make a project regarding what I like to call EQUAL LOVE. It’s about spreading POSITIVE awareness for love with no boundaries based on gender, race or any other feature.
It’s basically me making flyers and chalking up the sidewalks promoting a website I created (WECANLOVE.ORG) that’s a place for people to share their stories, experiences, questions, photographs and thoughts about equal love. I really feel that in our society people shouldn’t be told who and how they should love or be in a relationship with. Love is a beautiful thing and to discriminate against a certain type of people based on their own preferences is going against what I believe love is.
I hope you will pass this link (or reblog if you will) around and possibly submit something yourself. Thanks guys!
visit wecanlove.org for more information!
(ps props to my big for making the flyers)
