I’m almost done packing for my 10 week trip to Germany and I still have some space left in my luggage as well as 15 lbs left to spare. I’m so proud of me! :)

They say that pets and their owners tend to resemble each others’ look and personalities. After my first term interning at a small animal vet hospital, I’ve noticed that a lot of the other cats’ eyes get pretty big and round, whether or not they’re excited or calm. My two cats’ eyes never get this big and I wonder if it has something to do with me being their owner… One of my cats also happens to be a big horn dog, even post-op. I wonder if this has any relevance, too… hmm…

5) So I can recognize people’s faces when they wave at me from far away.

4) To be able to see what my face really looks like.

1) To read the street signs telling me it’s one-way traffic going in the opposite direction.

How do you know when you’ve found love? Maybe it’s the comfort you find in each others’ arms, in each others’ hearts that just makes it so easy. How convenient it is to help each other and how well it works out for the both of you. How much you enjoy teaching and learning from each other. How well you mesh affectionately, intellectually, socially, and so much more. How much you’d be willingly to give up for each other. How you can’t stand the thought of saying bye without knowing that you’ll see each other again…

That little mermaid knew what she was talking about. How I long to be part of your world…

In the same month, I lost my dog, my boyfriend is leaving the country, and now one of my best friends is moving to a different state. As shitty as my life is right now, I could feel more sad. So I’m glad that I’m not completely depressed. I have a new kitty in my life, I know I will see my best friend again, and for almost everything else there’s Skype. And if that doesn’t help, I always have my smiley face jacket that reminds me to just keep smiling.

I take pride in being that person who lights up the room when she walks in. A smile is contagious and when you can give someone a genuine smile, it will make their day that much better. :)
